Busy Saturday - 1 Day Old

Saturday Morning we were anxious to get checked out of the hospital and home. Jake had stayed the night with the kids and got them all ready for soccer in the morning. Natasha had a 9am game, so he dropped her off with a friend on her team and then brought Tamsyn and Trey to the hospital to pick Dantley and me up. The pediatrician had come by and given the ok for Dantley to go home, but I was still waiting for the Dr to come and release me. Both Tamsyn and Trey had their final games of the season at 11am and then team parties afterward, so we needed to get home in time for Jake to take them.  Finally a little after 10am the Dr. finally showed up.  She came in and pushed on my belly and listened to my chest and sent us on our way. Luckily nurse Hildur had helped us get all of our paperwork ready beforehand.  But once the Dr. showed up the nurse was nowhere to be found.  I ended up calling her pager number so that we could leave.  We got home just in time to hurriedly put the kid's shin guards and cleats on.  Jake rushed them out the door to get to their games.

It was a miserable day weather wise -- luckily the two games weren't too far apart on the same big field, but it was a bit crazy for Jake to run back and forth between the two. Especially since Trey's team goes over to parents when they are not in the game playing.

While Jake took these pictures Dantley and I tried to get some rest and never got out of bed.
Back and forth in the mud and rain--
At noon, Trey's team had a party at a local ice cream shop. Here Trey is getting his trophy from his coach. He had two great coaches who were extremely patient and good with the 3 and 4 year olds.
At 1pm Tamsyn's team had her party at a pizza place. Here she is getting her trophy.

Later that night we got the kids dressed up so Jake could take them to the trunk or treat that some people in the ward had organized since Halloween was on a Sunday this year.  Tasha was a spider witch, Tamsyn was her black cat.  Jake was a Sith and Trey was Yoda.  I had costumes for Dantely and I but opted to save them for next year since we were going to stay home anyway.  The kids really wanted Dantley dressed up somehow, so I put him in a Tigger outfit that Trey used to wear as a baby.

It was an exhausting first day home... but we survived.

I have to admit that I am glad that soccer is over for these two for a while.
